Stones in the kidneys
The number of people with kidney disease has clearly increased in recent years. One of them is the formation of stones. There is a hypothesis that the formation of kidney stones is influenced by unhealthy diet - excessive consumption of fatty and junk foods, such as fast food or chips, as well as a sedentary lifestyle. These factors negatively affect not only internal organs, but also a person's weight.
Causes of kidney stones
The main causes of kidney stones are: a change in the composition of urine, which is influenced by the quality of the water used, hereditary predisposition, defects in the development of the kidneys, narrowing of the ureter (which can be congenital in a child), a hot climate, in which, as a rule, more fluids, and sweating occurs more frequently. An infection can also enter the kidneys or bladder.
The influence is exerted by the use of a large number of foods rich in calcium. Since calcium is simply necessary for a person, this point can be looked at from different angles: on the one hand, the benefit, on the other, harm. Therefore, the use of such products should also be balanced.
Pain from kidney stones does not appear immediately, that is, at first the disease does not appear. The onset of pain begins only when the stone begins to move in the urinary tract.
Here are the symptoms of kidney stones:
• Colic or dull pain in the lumbar region, which can be aggravated by various physical activities, including such weak ones as long walking. (But there is also the opposite opinion that physical activity makes it easier for the stone to escape)
• Unbearable or just extremely severe pain, which can also radiate to the hips, lower abdomen, genitals
• Unpleasant sensations or difficulty urinating, as well as frequent urge to urinate
• In rare cases, nausea, and even vomiting is possible
• Appearance of yellow or red sediment in urine, blood in urine
You can approximately determine the location of the stone or stones: if the pain radiates to the genitals, then the stones are at the bottom of the ureter, and if in the groin area, then in the ureter itself or the so-called renal pelvis.
How to get rid of kidney stones?
Treatment is prescribed depending on the complexity and severity of the disease. You may need surgery to crush kidney stones, called lithotripsy. But this is in exceptional cases, because surgical intervention can have an adverse effect, both on the child's body and on his psyche.
Not every adult can easily cope with this, especially a baby. But if, after all, the operation is inevitable, do not worry. Modern technologies allow the operation to be performed painlessly and effectively.
