Ultrasound is performed in both male and female subjects. In men, the function, location and structure of the prostate and seminal vesicles are examined. In women, the ovaries and their appendages, the uterus and the fallopian tubes are examined.

Indications for ultrasound may be:

  • Irregular menstrual cycle in women
  • Bloody discharge from the vagina
  • Time of routine preventive examination
  • Pain in the lower abdomen (both sexes)


During the examination, diseases such as:

  • Disease of the ovaries and their appendages
  • Abscesses
  • Cysts located in soft tissues
  • Metastasis of tumors
  • Benign and malignant tumors
  • Adenomas, prostates, prostatitis
  • Disease of the prostate
  • Ectopic pregnancy, fibroids, endometritis
  • Anomaly of development of the uterus
  • Pathology of bowel movement and bladder

 

Most men and women turn to ultrasound of the pelvis due to infertility. In this case, ultrasound can help identify the cause in the inflammatory processes in the pelvic organs. Ultrasound also shows a clear picture of the state of health of cancer patients and a biopsy of neoplasms is performed.

Ultrasound is recommended to do once a year without waiting for the symptoms of gynecological and urological diseases. Diagnosis with a complete bladder is carried out, so before testing it is worth drinking 1.5 liters of water.
