Treatment of intervertebral hernia

Modernized Treatment of intervertebral hernia in Tashkent in the Gatling Med multidisciplinary clinic, equipped with modern medical equipment and highly qualified doctors trained abroad, is ready to advise you and provide proper treatment at a guaranteed high level !!

Intervertebral hernia or herniated disc is a protrusion of the nucleus of the intervertebral disc into the spinal canal as a result of a violation of the integrity of the fibrous ring. The risk group includes men and women from 25 to 50 years old who perform work related to lifting weights (for example, loaders) or with prolonged sitting (for example, in the office in front of a computer). A hernia occurs when the fibrous ring (which surrounds the intervertebral disc) ruptures due to certain reasons, and the nucleus pulposus, which is located inside the disc, is displaced. Getting into the intervertebral canal, it affects the cells of the spinal cord or nerve roots, which causes pain, spasms, numbness, etc.

Symptoms of an intervertebral hernia of the lumbosacral region

The symptoms of a herniated disc vary depending on its location (in the lumbar, thoracic or cervical spine) and also depending on the stage of its development.

tingling sensations in the area of the damaged disc;

leg numbness on the affected side of the disc;

intermittent weakness and loss of sensation in both legs;

pain radiating to the buttock from the side of the disc injury;

dysfunction of the excretory and reproductive systems.

Symptoms of a herniated disc in the cervical region

dizziness and/or headaches;

jump blood pressure;

"shots" in the shoulder or arm;

loss of sensation in the fingers.

If a hernia has developed in the thoracic region, the patient experiences pain, trying to take a typical job.

In another position, in addition, chronic chest pain may occur with the further development of kyphoscoliosis or scoliosis.

The method of choice for diagnosing herniated discs is currently magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or multislice computed tomography (MSCT). If necessary, non-invasive MR myelography or invasive CT myelography is performed. If the intervertebral disc protrudes 25–50% of its diameter, it is a hernia. If more, then we are talking about bulging (protrusion) of the disc.

Treatment of intervertebral hernia

There are two types of treatment for a herniated disc - conservative and surgical. The first method involves the treatment of a hernia with anti-inflammatory drugs or traction therapy. The second method, surgical intervention, is used in extreme cases (if the spinal cord is damaged, etc.).
